The main idea of "DigitaLearn - Preparing youth workers for digital youth work" that took place in Diano Marina, Italy between 15-21 November, is to empower young people and help them start the path of gaining digital skills, both as a consumer and a producer.
The project had workshops, discussions & group works where young people learned the digital tools they can use, as well as understanding basic concepts in digitalization such as ‘’Digital Literacy’’ and ‘’Digital Divide’’ and how these can be improved.
The training helped young people to use the internet and digital tools. However, the training also empowered and informed young people on producing digital content (for example: online training) and how to make that possible.
Apart from the digital topics, the training also offered soft skills to the participants, where important topics such as time management, stress management, communication skills and public speaking.
24 participants coming from 6 partner countries: IPSIA - Italy, Bulgaria - International Youth Committee), Hungary - Recreativity Tarsadalmi Vallalkozas Nonprofit, Poland - Fundacja im. Jana Pawla II, Romania - Asociatia Euroactive and Turkey - Bir Damla Ilknur ve Kemal Imrek Dernegi has been very active and engaged during the training, contributing with their experience and activeness. At the end of the training, participants have taken the first step to creating their digital content (you can find the link below).
All in all, the training has been very successful, with the contribution and participation of the participants not only limited to the event, but also beyond it, especially with the online training they have created.
